Zita V. Tóth
I am a PhD student in philosophy at Fordham University. I did my undergraduate in philosophy and mathematics at ELTE University (Budapest, Hungary - where I am from), and an MA in medieval studies at Central European University (Budapest).
Currently I am also participating in a two-year Licentiate program in Manuscript studies, organized by the PIMS, Toronto.
With four Hungarian colleagues we are working on a project funded by the Hungarian Research Fund (OTKA), which involves a Hungarian translation of Descartes’ Optics, and a thematic volume about the same opus.
My main interest is later medieval philosophy, especially metaphysics and epistemology. I am also interested in the history of science (mainly late medieval and early modern), and the problem of causation (both historical and contemporary).
